Welcome to Elderfield Treasure Map — All 12 Maps and Dig Locations

Welcome to Elderfield hides 12 numbered treasure maps, and the community wiki lists each one with its source, its loot and the exact spot to dig. Ten have complete entries; Treasure Map 9 and Treasure Map 10 are listed only as Fishing Treasure Loot with no location filled in. Most maps come from talking to the right villager, which makes them a reason to keep up friendships rather than a random drop chase.

How Treasure Maps Work

Each map is a distinct item with a fixed dig location rather than a randomised one. You obtain the map first — usually from a character, sometimes from loot — and then dig at the described landmark to receive a bundle of items. Because the wiki records the landmark in plain language ("below the drain", "next to the blue garbage can") instead of coordinates, the reliable method is to read the landmark and match it to the area, and to treat mine and Mall layouts as variable where the map points inside them.

Who Gives You the Maps

The map list doubles as a friendship checklist, because the same nine relationship characters who take gifts are the ones holding the paper. Alice alone hands over two maps, one in Town and one at the farmhouse, so keeping her friendship up pays twice.

• Alice: Map 3 and Map 11 — the only character who gives two.
• Molly: Map 6, from her Workshop.
• Celeste: Map 7, in Town.
• Blorph: Map 8, via gossip.
• Josh: Map 12, at the Art Gallery.
• Ellie: Map 2, by lending her money.
• Random sources: Map 1 (the farmhouse cat), Map 4 (pentagram mystery), Map 5 (Mall Mines book loot), Map 9 and Map 10 (fishing).

Loot Worth Chasing

The rewards split into three families: luck items, gem and coin containers, and rare food and drink. The dice from Map 2 — two Cursed Die, a Lucky Die and a Crimson Die — are the standout because the game's Die Rolls mechanic reads Luck and chance modifiers directly, which makes those items more than vendor trash.

• Coin containers: Small and Medium Coin Pouch from Maps 4 and 5, Large Coin Box from Map 7.
• Luck and dice: Cursed Die, Lucky Die and Crimson Die from Map 2.
• Rare food and drink: Aged Rum, Spiced Sausage, Cured Mana Steak and Love Potion.

The maps that come from loot rather than people are the ones with the least documentation, so here is where each RNG map is sourced from:

Locations That Need Care

A Steam thread about the maps shows how easy the landmark wording is to misread — players were guessing whether Map 1 meant the farm and whether Map 3 pointed at the leftward streetlights. That guesswork is not confirmed, so ignore it. What is confirmed is that several maps point inside the Mall, the Sewers and the Mines, where the wiki itself notes layouts can vary; look for the named landmark rather than a fixed corner. The Map 9 and Map 10 dig spots, and any per-map drop rate for the RNG sources, remain undocumented.
