Olympus 2249 Act 1 is the first of three planned story acts, and it is the only act in the Early Access build that launched on October 6, 2026. The developers describe the current build as about a quarter of the overall story and roughly 3 to 7 hours of play per run. In practice that means you are buying a complete set of systems wrapped around an unfinished campaign: the mechanics are all switched on, but the story stops early and there is no ending in the build.
What Act 1 of 3 Means Right Now
The phrase Act 1 of 3 is the developer's own framing, and it is the clearest signal of scope. Three acts are planned for the finished game, and Early Access ships the first one, which the team puts at about a quarter of the story. A quarter is smaller than a third, which tells you two things: Act 1 is the shortest of the three by the team's own estimate, and the later acts are expected to carry more content than what you can play today. No completion date for Act 2 or Act 3 is published, so treat any roadmap date you see elsewhere as unconfirmed.
What Is Already Playable in the Early Access Build
The important reassurance is on the store page itself. All of the planned game systems and mechanics are already implemented in Early Access, and the team says they have been balanced for different playstyles. So the toolbox is not a stub. Combat is fully turn-based with positioning, environmental hazards and limb aiming, character building runs through the Karmic Type and perk systems, and the wider systems include crafting, stealth, a day and night cycle, hazardous environments and procedural loot for random encounters and raids.

That distinction decides whether the build is worth your time. Buy it for the systems and you get the finished design; buy it for the story and you get a slice that ends before the resolution. The full version is planned to add significantly more locations, factions, quests, characters and items, and the price is set to rise gradually as that content lands, so the $19.99 launch price is the floor rather than the ceiling.
What You Are Buying, and What Is Still Missing
The math is straightforward once the two halves are separated. You pay $19.99 for a complete mechanical toolkit and a story slice, and the story slice is the part that will grow.
| Act 1 detail | What is documented |
|---|---|
| Acts planned | 3, with Act 1 in Early Access |
| Story share in the build | About a quarter |
| Length of a run | Roughly 3 to 7 hours |
| Systems complete | Yes, per the developer, with balancing done |
| Expected Early Access span | Around 18 to 24 months |
| Act 2 and Act 3 dates | not documented yet |
The practical conclusion for a first run is that Act 1 is best treated as a long, replayable slice rather than a campaign. To see how the choices inside it branch, read the endings page and the karmic types page; for the state of the build and its updates, see the update page and the guide.
FAQ
Is Act 1 the whole of Olympus 2249 right now?
Act 1 is the only act in the current Early Access build. The developers say the finished game is planned around three story acts, and that the launch build is about a quarter of the overall story, so the campaign stops well before the planned ending.
How long does Act 1 take to finish?
The developer estimate is roughly 3 to 7 hours per run, depending on your build, how you play and how many side quests you finish. Turn-based fights and the amount of optional content you chase are the two big swings inside that range.
Are the game systems also incomplete in Act 1?
No. The developer states that all of the planned game systems and mechanics are already implemented in Early Access, and that they have been balanced for different playstyles. What is missing is story content, not the mechanical toolkit.
When will Act 2 and Act 3 arrive?
No dates are published, so this is not documented yet. The team says it expects to stay in Early Access for around 18 to 24 months and to add more locations, factions, quests, characters and items over that period, but it has not committed to a schedule for the remaining acts.
